Between 1981 and 1983 I had a little cartoon strip on the island of Kauai while I was the stay-at-home dad for Melelani. The strip was called Kokonuts and was devoted to the lazy life on the beach. Two of the main characters were myself (Fiji Freddy) and my friend Murray, who was a flamingo. Hawaii doesn’t have native flamingos and that is a crying shame. There ended up being over 300 cartoons for the Garden Island Newspaper.
In my novels I guarantee that all of my characters fall in love (except for the bad guys who die such horrible deaths that even their own mothers wouldn't recognize their bodies in the morgue). By the last chapters, the entire universe's problems are all tied up in neat little bows. And then, if any of my readers DON'T like my endings, I'll send over my publishers, Vinnie & Nunzio for a visit. After a 15 minute consultation with my guys, I can guarantee that anyone who objects to, or doesn't 'enjoy' my work will change their tune.
